Oerlikon focuses on CIS states
The global manufacturer of vacuum pumps and systems has signed agreements with major Russian distributor Vacuummash
Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum has signed a contract with a distributor for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region.
CIS countries consist of what was used to be the Soviet Union such as Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova.
This contract will be the basis for a strategic partnership with Vacuummash, a vacuum pump and systems suppliers in Russia and will facilitate the access to the CIS States.
"By signing these agreements, the cooperation of the last 20 years has now been ratified in due form, stabilising the grown relationship of trust. We are convinced that this is the right way of implementing our growth strategy in this region," says Martin Füllenbach, CEO of Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum GmbH.
The Joint Stock Company, JSC VACUUMMASH, is a vacuum technology company in Russia and the largest manufacturer of vacuum systems in the region holding a market share of around 30 percent. Vacuummash has a deep know-how on the application requirements in vacuum technology, especially in the areas of process industry, R&D and the energy sector.
The company, which was founded in 1943 and has been in the vacuum business for more than 50 years, is deeply anchored with more than 400 employees in Russia and the neighbouring CIS countries, having an excellent understanding of the application requirements of each field of trade.
Vacuum systems are inherent in the MOCVD growth of III-V and III-nitride semiconductors.
There has already been a joint development cooperation and supply relationship between the two companies in the field of diffusion and booster pumps for the last twenty years.
The recently signed, long-term agreement offers significant advantages for Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum, so that in the future, Russian clients in the areas of metallurgy, chemical, energy, and research and development will benefit from this agreement. Accordingly, Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum will cater for vacuum and high vacuum products as well as bring complete vacuum systems to the Russian market.
The agreements also cover the use of Vacuummash’s servicing capabilities for Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum’s equipment in the region of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This will further benefit market penetration in this region and enhance customer proximity.
