Anadigics' WiFi chip powers new Huawei smartphone
Anadigics today announced that the company is shipping production volumes of its AWL9281 front-end integrated circuit (FEIC) to Huawei for the new Ascend Mate 7, one of the most compact large-screen smartphones on the market.
"Huawei's innovative smartphone designs, such as the advanced Ascend Mate 7, deliver an exceptional large-screen mobile experience," said Jerry Miller, senior vice president of worldwide sales and applications at Anadigics. "We are delighted by this latest win, which strengthens our long history of powering wireless connectivity in many of Huawei's leading devices."
Anadigics' family of WiFi FEICs uses the compmany's patented InGaP-Plus technology and architectures to combine a high performance power amplifier (PA), low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass option and RF switch on a single die. This level of integration greatly improves manufacturability and reliability, while reducing PCB space requirements, says the company.
