Crystal IS Introduces Partner Distribution Channel

Crystal IS, a developer of UVC LEDs, has introduced the Optan distribution channel. The first five distribution partners will carry select bins of Optan for specific geographic locales. These partners and corresponding geographic regions are: Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) and Opto Science in Asia Pacific (APAC); Epigap Optronic GmbH and Pacer International for Europe; and Thorlabs handling North America.

Crystal IS say that Optan is the breakthrough product that allows developers to fully exploit the power of UV-based technology to improve productivity, increase accuracy and create greater flexibility in product designs. The superior light output and spectral quality of the Optan UVC LED technology, made possible by the unique, low defect AIN substrate, delivers best-in-class reliability, and longer lifetimes, a game changer for life sciences and analytical instrumentation, including environmental monitoring.

"In addition to delivery, we wanted to be sure Crystal IS distributors offered a full complement of services to customers needing to select a light source for their instrumentation needs," said Larry Felton, CEO of Crystal IS. "To that end, our partner selection process carefully reviewed capabilities in consultation and services in optical systems."

Distribution partners will offer Optan to customers and prospects looking for state-of-the-art light sources for many different instrumentation applications including:

HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) for purification of proteins and pharmaceutical manufacturing
Real-time monitoring applications for water quality in drinking water and industrial waste-water
Ozone monitoring for detection of harmful pollutants

The Optan LEDs are currently available in peak wavelengths from 250 nm to 280 nm and power bins from 0.5 mW to 2 mW, designed for spectroscopic applications because of their high spectral quality and reliability.
