Marktech Optoelectronic opens detector facility in California
New manufacturing plant will focus on standard and custom detectors
Marktech Optoelectronics, a US manufacturer of sensors and InP epiwafers, has opened its first detector facility in Semi Valley, California.
The new manufacturing plant will feature a class 1000 clean room and will focus on custom and standard detectors utilising both Si and InGaAs. Standard packages include TO-5, TO-18, To-39 and TO-46 with a variety of lens options. Custom designed products include Chip on Board types, modules and hybrids with built in electronics.
William Moore, president of Marktech said: "This is a major step for us moving into the detection area since we have focused on both IR and visible emitters and LEDs".
Heading the new venture will be Barry Jones who has more than 34 years of experience in the design and manufacturing of optoelectronic detection and RF microelectronic devices. Prior to joining Marktech Barry served in various positions including CEO and General Manager of Pacific Silicon Sensor Inc. and Operations Manager at Centro Vision Inc. in California.
