Huawei Selects Anadigics WiFi chip for Honor 4X Smartphone
Anadigics has announced that it is shipping production volumes of its AWL9281 front-end integrated circuit (FEIC) to Huawei for the new Honor 4X smartphone. The phone offers a 5.5-inch IPS display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, and 13 megapixel rear-facing camera.
"The growing list of Huawei devices powered by Anadigics' products shows the strength of the relationship forged between our two companies," said Jerry Miller, senior vice president of Worldwide sales and applications at Anadigics.
"We understand the many challenges that manufacturers face as competition continues to fuel smartphone innovation across all price points, from functionality to form. Anadigics has responded to these challenges by developing WiFi FEICs that offer a stellar level of performance and integration, enabling compact designs with ultra-fast wireless connectivity and extended battery life."
Anadigics' family of WiFi FEICs, based on its patented InGaP-Plus technology, combines a high performance power amplifier (PA), low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass option and RF switch on a single die.
This level of integration improves manufacturability and reliability, while reducing PCB space requirements. The AWL9281 FEIC also operates with every low current consumption, which significantly extends battery-life in mobile applications.
