QD Vision and Konka Partner on Quantum Dot TVs
At the China Information Technology Expo (CITE) last week, Konka, one of China's leading HDTV manufacturers, unveiled two new quantum dot UHD televisions based on QD Vision's Color IQ optics.
Konka's new models will be available at Chinese retailers later this year.
"QD Vision's Color IQ quantum dot technology helps make these new televisions among the best on the market," said Zhimao Zhuo, Senior Product Manager, Konka. Konka currently has a large share of the Chinese high-end television market. China represents almost two-thirds of global demand for UHD or 4K televisions, according to DisplaySearch.
"We at QD Vision are proud to help Konka bring the best possible viewing experience and genuine value to its customers," said Matt Mazzuchi, Vice President, Market and Business Development, QD Vision. "We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Konka as we continue to help bring the world's best colour to China and the rest of the display world."
"Quantum dot technology is one of the biggest breakthroughs for LCD in recent years," said Jennifer Colegrove, CEO and principal analyst at Touch Display Research, Inc. "We forecast that, by 2025, 60 percent of TVs will have quantum dots in them."
