Anadigics launches Highest RF Power/Watt CATV Amps
RF chip company Anadigics has introduced two new high-power GaN infrastructure line amplifiers for CATV systems at the ANGA COM 2015 exhibition, June 9-11, in Cologne, Germany.
The ACA2455 and ACA4733 power doublers are for fibre deep, Node+0 networks, and node segmentation/split upgrades by delivering world-class output power, linearity and efficiency.
With only 12.7W of DC power consumption, these new line amplifiers are said to offer the lowest cost per bit for all-digital content delivery. James Martin, senior business development director of Infrastructure Products at Anadigics said: "These power doublers not only deliver the output power and linearity required for DOCSIS 3.1 applications, but also provide exceptional efficiency for energy-saving 'green' networks."
Anadigics' ACA2455 and ACA4733 line amplifiers combine the company's MESFET technology with a GaN output stage. They provide 28dB gain, +63dBmV per channel output power, and +73.2dBmV total composite power.
The amplifiers are also said to offer excellent composite triple beat (CTB), composite second order (CSO), cross modulation, carrier-to-intermodulation noise (CIN), and modulation-error and bit-error ratio (MER and BER) characteristics for optimal performance in a fully-loaded spectrum.
