Luminus launches RGBL colour-mix LEDs

New LED series boosts colour rendering in stage and architectural fixtures

Luminus Devices has introduced a new series of 4-in-1 RGBL (Red-Green-Blue-Lime) LEDs designed for stage and architectural lighting systems that require high high-output colour mixing with high colour-rendering index (CRI).

Yves Bertic, senior business line director at Luminus Devices said: "Our new 4-in-1 RGBL LED technology allows our customers to design or upgrade fixtures with high lumen output and excellent reliability. Leveraging Luminus’ ceramic-based converted green technology for the Lime channel, this product can be driven at very high current and delivers unmatched performance setting a new standard in the 40W colour-mix market”.

The series is designed with minimal spacing between individual emitters. The Lime (570 nm dominant wavelength) channel replaces the cool white LED used in the traditional 4-in-1 LED to enlarge the colour space while improving brightness. These LEDs have a high CRI of over 85, and are said to ensure brilliant illumination across the entire colour temperature range from 3000K to 8000K.

All channels can be driven up to 3A and 100 percent DC.
