SiC photodiodes target deep UVC detection

Marktech Optoelectronics has launched SiC photodiodes for deep UVC detection. These devices exhibit visible light or solar blind characteristics, making them suitable for monitoring 235nm and 255nm far or deep UVC LEDs used in air and surface sterilisation, water purification, and analytical instrumentation.
"These new SiC photodiodes represent a significant advancement in UVC detection technology," said Vince Forte, CTO at Marktech Optoelectronics. "Their ability to accurately detect 235nm and 255nm UVC wavelengths without interference from visible light positions them as a crucial component in any UVC monitoring system."
Their wavelength sensitivity range is 220nm to 358nm, suitable for applications requiring stringent monitoring and control of UVC light sources. Their visible light or solar blind properties ensure they are unaffected by ambient light, allowing precise UVC measurements without interference, according to the company.
The new UVC detectors are available in two hermetic package types: TO-46 metal can – part number MT12-001; and ATLAS hermetic surface mount (SMD) package - MTSM1057SMF2-046.
Secure Your Hydrogen Supply
A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.
