Ortel Unveils Industry's Highest Power Linear Forward Path Laser
Los Angeles, CA. Ortel Corp. (Nasdaq: ORTL), today announced the CATV industry s highest power 1310 nm laser module. Launched as the Mercury Laser, Ortel s newest 1310 nm laser module combines 31 mW output power with superior distortion performance over an enhanced operating temperature range of -40 to 85° C.
Throughout the 1999 Western Show, December 15-17, 1999, Ortel will be conducting a live demonstration of the Mercury Laser in the Ortel booth number 3113. The demonstration will showcase the output power of an Ortel Mercury Laser operating on the company s 3641 transmitter engine subassembly.
"The Mercury Laser is the first in a series of near term product announcements that will demonstrate Ortel s ability to leverage our latest innovations in DFB laser and packaging technologies, delivering higher power, performance and reliability to our telecommunications and cable television customers," said Jeff Rittichier, Ortel s vice president of marketing. "The high power and broad temperature range of Ortel s Mercury Laser enables our customers to design 1310nm transmitters that can reach farther distances and support an even greater number of optical splits. Essentially, with Ortel s Mercury Laser, OEMs and cable operators can expect to receive more performance per dollar with their 1310 nm CATV technology."
Ortel Corporation designs, manufactures and supplies advanced optoelectronic technologies that provide the critical bandwidth and two-way interactivity essential for robust telecommunications and cable television applications. Ortel s fiber optics increase the capacity and performance of fiberoptic networks enabling them to handle ever-increasing volumes of voice, video and data communications. The company is headquartered in Alhambra, California with international operations in Sweden, Germany, France, Singapore and China.

Secure Your Hydrogen Supply
A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.
Take control with Nel on-site hydrogen generation.
