ANADIGICS Ships Samples of 3-Volt HBT Power Amplifiers to Wireless Customers

Power amplifier features advanced packaging technology, 3-volt linear performance, and leading-edge InGaP HBT design

Warren, NJ. ANADIGICS, a leading supplier of wireless and broadband communications products, has announced the shipment of its first high-efficiency HBT (hetero-junction bipolar transistor) power amplifier samples to major wireless handset manufacturers. Operating from a single 3-Volt supply, these HBT power amplifier products provide linear operation for digital wireless standards. Using advanced module technology, the power amplifiers integrate all necessary passive components for full compensation and 50 Ohm input/output matching.

"The development of InGaP HBT power amplifiers more than doubles the available market for our wireless products," remarks Dr. Bami Bastani, President & CEO, ANADIGICS. "These HBT offerings continue to strengthen and expand our wireless product portfolio and will enable ANADIGICS to broaden its wireless customer base."

ANADIGICS HBT Power Amplifiers will be manufactured using the world s first six-inch analog GaAs (gallium arsenide) fab. InGaP (indium gallium phosphide) HBT Power Amplifiers provide outstanding power efficiency and high linearity enabling handsets to achieve longer battery life and better signal characteristics for voice and data.

"Our HBT PA products have been well received by key handset manufacturers" notes Barak Maoz, Vice President of Wireless Power Amplifier Products, ANADIGICS. "By leveraging our proven RF design capability with the performance and reliability benefits of InGaP HBT, we can deliver industry-leading PA performance while retaining our ability to offer low-cost solutions to our customers."

ANADIGICS 3-volt HBT power amplifier products will be available in a fully compensated module or surface mount plastic package. For additional information, contact ANADIGICS by phone (908) 668-5000 or FAX (908) 668-5132.

Secure Your Hydrogen Supply

A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.

Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.

Take control with Nel on-site hydrogen generation.
