ANADIGICS Announces Plans to Expand 6-Inch Manufacturing Operation

Warren, NJ. In response to the growing demand for the Company s Wireless and Broadband communications products, ANADIGICS has announced plans to expand its state-of-the-art 6-inch production facility. The Company s expansion plan includes the development of additional Class 10 cleanroom space and equipment installation within its existing InGaP HBT (indium gallium phosphide heterojunction bipolar transistor), PHEMT (pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor), and MESFET (metal semiconductor field effect transistor) manufacturing facility. Scheduled for completion by the end of the first half in 2000, the expanded facilities will approximately double current production
capability.

"The wireless and broadband communications markets are growing at a tremendous pace," observes Dr. Bami Bastani, President & CEO, ANADIGICS. "This manufacturing expansion plan positions ANADIGICS with the necessary capacity to serve our customers and is consistent with our 2000 year-end projected growth rates in these markets."

The $10M expansion will link directly with the existing 6-inch production line, contributing to the manufacturing efficiencies of a large-scale semiconductor fabrication operation. "ANADIGICS leads the RFIC industry with its 6-inch manufacturing capability. This gives us a strategic advantage in our markets,"
remarks Bruce Diamond, Senior Vice President of Operations, ANADIGICS. "We will continue to build capacity consistent with demand for our RFIC products to insure our customers receive world class cycle time and on-time delivery."

ANADIGICS (NASDAQ: ANAD) designs and manufactures radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) solutions for growing broadband and wireless communications markets. The Company s innovative high frequency RFICs enable manufacturers of communications equipment to enhance overall system performance, manufacturing cost, and time to market. By utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes for its RFICs, ANADIGICS achieves the high-volume, and cost-effective products required by leading companies in its targeted high-growth communications markets. ANADIGICS was the first GaAs IC manufacturer to receive ISO 9001 certification. For more information on ANADIGICS, visit the Company s web site at www.anadigics.com

Secure Your Hydrogen Supply

A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.

Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.

Take control with Nel on-site hydrogen generation.
