RF Micro Devices Introduces Dual-Band 3V Low Noise Amplifier

7 February, 2000

Greensboro, NC. RF Micro Devices, Inc. (Nasdaq: RFMD), a leading provider of proprietary radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs) for wireless communications applications, has introduced the RF2363, a new dual-band 3V low noise amplifier engineered for applications such as GSM/DCS dual-band and cellular/PCS dual-band handsets.

Designed for use as a front-end for 950MHz GSM and 1850MHz DCS applications, the RF2363 features an excellent combination of low-noise figure and high linearity at a very low supply current. In addition, the new device was created for general purpose amplification and use in both commercial and consumer systems.

The 900MHz LNA is a single-stage amplifier, while the 1900MHz LNA is a two-stage amplifier. The part may also be tuned for applications in other frequency bands. Distinguished by a low noise and high intercept point, the RF2363 operates with an 18dB gain at 900MHz and 1900MHz.

For superior performance, the device is produced using GaAs HBT (gallium arsenide heterojunction bipolar transistor) technology and RFMD s Optimum Technology Matching(R). Manufactured in a very small industry standard SOT-23 8-lead package, the RF2363 is available for immediate shipment at $0.82 per unit in order quantities of 10,000.
