ANADIGICS Announces Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel IDP-TIA Evaluation Kits

WARREN, N.J. Evaluation kits available for 3-Volt and 5-Volt preamplifiers that improve fiber-optic receiver performance

Evaluation kits are available to sample the performance of ANADIGICS integrated detector preamplifiers (IDPs) in fiber-optic receiver designs. With these kits, engineers can evaluate the company s 3.3-volt and 5-volt PIN-transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) and MSM-TIAs for 1300nm and 850nm Gigabit Ethernet and Fiber Channel applications.

The evaluation kits include an IDP that is mounted on an evaluation board that provides SMA connectors on the differential outputs. The kits also contain five unconnectorized samples as well as an application note that describes how to achieve optimal performance of the IDPs within a receiver design.

Characterized by exceptional sensitivity, the ANADIGICS IDPs are used in the front-end of fiber-optic receivers. Evaluation kits are available for all IDPs currently in production, including the AMT121302, the AMT128502, and the AMT128503.

Delivering sensitivity specifications that exceed Gigabit Ethernet and Fiber Channel Specifications for 1300-nm systems, the AMT121302 parts integrate a PIN diode photodetector and a TIA. Designed for use in 850-nm fiber-optic systems, the +3.3-volt AMT128503 and the +5.0 volt AMT128502 MSM-TIAs integrate a metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) diode and a TIA to offer the high sensitivity and wide bandwidth required to support the latest fiber-optic advancements.

The evaluation kits can be ordered online from the Fiber Products section of the Company s website, www.anadigics.com, and are priced from $399 to $499. For additional information, contact ANADIGICS by phone (908) 668-5000 or FAX (908) 668-5132.
