TriQuint Foundry Process Design Kit for TOM3 Models Now Available for Agilent Advanced Design System EDA Software

Models Offer Improved Non-Linear, Zero Bias, and Reverse Gate Leakage Characterization for Accurate RFIC and MMIC Performance Prediction With ADS

Hillsboro, OR. TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (Nasdaq:TQNT) and Agilent Technologies, Inc. today announced the availability of the TQTRx foundry process design kit, including TriQuint s TOM3 advanced non-linear GaAs FET models, in Agilent s Advanced Design System electronic design automation (EDA) software.

Formerly, circuit simulations and layouts were built piece by piece and verified against design rules, a time-consuming and often inaccurate process. Now these rules are built into the new foundry process design kit, saving design time and improving the accuracy of the simulations.

Support for the TOM3 model in TriQuint s TQTRx process, which is optimized for RF and microwave transceiver applications, is available now. TriQuint expects to add support for additional processes in the future. The TOM3 models are an industry-recognized standard useful for accurate non-linear modeling of GaAs FET devices. The models have been integrated with Agilent s Advanced Design System, providing RFIC designers with seamless circuit synthesis, modeling, and layout capabilities.

About Agilent Advanced Design System

Agilent s Advanced Design System, which is developed and marketed by Agilent s EEsof EDA product group, is a complete set of design technologies that provides an integrated, end-to-end communication-signal-path solution to developers of such products as cellular and portable phones, pagers, wireless networks, and radar and satellite communications systems. The Advanced Design System includes leading edge RF, analog, DSP, and electromagnetic tools integrated with accurate models. Supported software operating system platforms include UNIX(tm) and Windows(tm). For information on Agilent ADS products, support and applications visit http://www.Agilent.com/eesof-eda.

TriQuint s TQTRx RFIC Process Design Library

TriQuint s TQTRx Process design library includes electrical and physical models for both passive (spiral inductors, capacitors, resistors, transmission lines) and active devices (FETs and diodes) which can be utilized for RFIC and MMIC design. The TOM3 GaAs FET models provide improved RF linear and non-linear characterization of devices under a variety of bias conditions including zero volts drain-to-source (for switch and diode modeling) and accurate reverse gate leakage characterization (for power amplifier linearity and efficiency modeling). TOM3 models for other TriQuint Foundry processes will follow.

The TOM3 model information is available on TriQuint s website at http://www.triquint.com/Foundry/Oregon/bdy_processdoc.htm.

U.S. PRICE AND DELIVERY

The TriQuint TQTRx foundry process design kit and TOM3 Model package will be provided free by TriQuint to current Agilent ADS software users who are licensed for the TriQuint TQTRx process. New users of Agilent ADS software / TQTRx foundry process can obtain the TOM3 kit as part of their foundry licensing package. The foundry process design kit/TOM3 Models are currently available from TriQuint and the Advanced Design System 1.3 is currently available from Agilent Technologies.
