MBE Technology Announces Purchase Of Two Riber 6000 Multi-Wafer Machines
MBE TECHNOLOGY Pte. Ltd., announced the purchase of two Riber 6000 multi-wafer machines. The first to be delivered in April 2000, the next in October 2000, with an option on a third in early 2001.
MBE Technology USA, Inc., CEO & President, Steve Schoenly commented that, "The industry is quickly moving to 6" manufacturing and as a consequence, we need to provide this service to our clients. We are fortunate to have earned several large blanket orders for 4" wafers, that will quickly be converted to 6" this year alone. In order for MBE to to keep up with the demand, we felt it necessary to expand our capability faster than anticipated."
Mr. Schoenly continues, "As a privately owned player in the GaA manufacturing market, we do not have access to large amounts of capital for frequent multi-unit purchases that our publically traded competition does. We must work a bit harder and raise the capital for expansion from our ongoing epi business and a contribution from our private owners. MBE will triple our capacity this year and we need to do so to meet the demand of our clients. At MBE, we must be mindful that with this expansion we need to maintain the quality, delivery and service that our clients have grown accustomed to."
