LumiLeds Lighting Announces Edgelit solutions for Display Lighting using LEDs.
New edgelit solutions offer daylight brightness, multiple color, full dynamics, aesthetic and flexible design and safer operation superior to conventional display products.
San Jose, CA. LumiLeds Lighting has chosen GlobalShop to announce a revolutionary product that will replace fluorescent as the primary lighting source in display lighting. Our new generation of edgelit signs, like the Please Take One model demonstrated, comprises of one or more high brightness LEDs (light emitting diodes) mounted into an elegant housing. The LEDs light a piece of acrylic as thin as 0.2", which displays your message at daylight brightness! Using LEDs enables dynamic effects such as light level variation, color mixing and flashing
Better than Fluorescent
For using high brightness LEDs, our edgelit signs have many advantages over traditional fluorescent displays.
First, the sign offers daylight brightness. Based on the much higher coupling efficiency of the LED light into the acrylic, a higher attraction value is obtained and maintained in daylight surrounding.
Second, all types of colors, color variations and dynamic effects can be obtained easily and efficiently. There are virtually no limitations to the mixing of the monochromatic colors and LEDs respond instantaneously to switching.
Third, the small size and weight of LEDs and its driver allow for minimum and aesthetic housing designs where fluorescent is limited by its tube diameter and/or electromagnetic or high frequency ballast. Also the length of our housing is fully flexible, not hampered by lamp physical size.
Fourth, our LED edgelit signs operate at between 6 and 24 volts as opposed to the much higher voltages of fluorescent. Therefore, next to being absolutely safe, this low voltage allows for standard battery operation.
Lastly, our LED edgelit signs save energy over their long trouble-free life, up to 80% over comparable fluorescent systems.
Our edgelit signs like the Please Take One will become available in mono color in July 2000. Multiple colors including white become available by the end of this year. The product consists of a housing including driver and a custom engraved acrylic plate in desired thickness equal or larger than 0.2". The sign can be made available in any size for reasonable quantities.

Secure Your Hydrogen Supply
A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.
