Celeritek Reports Memoranda of Understanding With Gilat Satellite Networks
Santa Clara, CA. Celeritek (Nasdaq: CLTK), a designer and manufacturer of GaAs semiconductor components and GaAs-based subsystems for broadband transmission of voice, video and data over wireless networks, today announced that it has received development and pre-production orders from Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. The orders are for high volume antenna mounted transmit outdoor units (ODUs).
In addition, Celeritek and Gilat have signed a series of Memoranda of Understanding for the production of a family of satellite transmit units. The GaAs-based subsystems are intended for use in Gilat s high volume data, rural telephony and broadband two-way satellite systems. Commercial volume production is expected to begin in the third calendar quarter of 2000 and to reach full production rates by the second calendar quarter of 2001. "We believe Gilat s selection of Celeritek confirms our strategy of leveraging the company s capabilities in high volume GaAs MMIC s and integration technologies to meet our customers new requirements and bring broadband access to consumers," commented Frank Sasselli, vice president, Satellite Subsystems.
Celeritek designs and manufactures gallium arsenide, or GaAs, semiconductor components and GaAs-based subsystems used in the transmission of voice, video and data over wireless communications networks. The company s semiconductor components and subsystems are designed to facilitate broadband voice and data transmission in mobile handsets and wireless communications network infrastructure.

Secure Your Hydrogen Supply
A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.
