AIXTRON receives 2/3 of all MOCVD equipment orders in Taiwan

UEC issued solid purchase orders for fast delivery of 10 more AIXTRON 2600G3 machines

AIXTRON informs that during the first 4.5 months of this year alone AIXTRON received orders from Taiwan for more than 30 MOCVD machines. The leading Taiwanese compound semiconductor companies such as UEC, Arima, Epistar, Procomp, and others have already placed orders totaling $45.0 million for shipment this year of the AIX 2400/2600G3 MOCVD Systems, to be used in AlInGaP UHB-LED, III-Nitride LED, and HBT applications. This corresponds to more than 65% of all MOCVD equipment sales in Taiwan this year.

These systems will further build up the already significant base of installed AIX 2400/2600G3 systems in Taiwan. UEC, for example, has placed a single order for 10 AIX 2400/2600G3 Planetary Reactors® which make up the majority in UEC s production of red, orange, yellow, green and blue LEDs and HBTs. Most of the AIX 2400/2600G3 systems sold to Taiwan will be shipped within this year or early next year.

Secure Your Hydrogen Supply

A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.

Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.

Take control with Nel on-site hydrogen generation.
