VG Semicon Announces Cumulative Sales of Production MBE Systems Exceeding Sixty Units.

June 12th 2000.

East Grinstead, England. VG Semicon, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermo Instruments Corporation (ASE-THI), has announced that cumulative sales of its multi-wafer Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) systems now exceeds sixty units. These units, which include the industry-leading V100 and V150 systems, are primarily used in high-volume semiconductor processes such as the manufacture of radio frequency integrated circuits (RFIC s) for wireless communication technology.

The V100 and V150 MBE systems are the "industry standard" production units for the GaAs epilayer used in the fabrication of GaAs microwave devices. "The achievement of this significant milestone underscores the significant role these products and VG Semicon continue to play in GaAs technology. VG Semicon s multi-wafer MBE systems have truly been an enabling force in the wireless revolution" commented David Williams, VG Semicon s Managing Director.
