LumiLeds Power Light Source Selected as the Light Source for Emergency Vehicle Lighting Solutions

San Jose, CA. LumiLeds Lighting, the world leader in power LED solutions for lighting, announced today that it has been awarded a multi-million dollar order from 911EP. LumiLeds will supply 911EP with a custom Power Light Source for new emergency vehicle lighting solutions. The LumiLeds Power Light Source is based on LumiLeds Lighting patented Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology and combines these "power" LEDs mounted on a specially designed metal-clad PC board. LED technology provides solid state durability, longer life, and lower power consumption compared to traditional incandescent solutions. The Power Light Source is custom designed to meet specific light output and color requirements.

Aneta Davis, Market Manager for LumiLeds Lighting Components Division said, "We are excited about the commitment and relationship with 911EP. Our technology with their products is a perfect match."

LumiLeds has long led the market in large junction LEDs allowing a more "bulb-replacement" concept than their competitors using traditional LEDs. For example, a standard 200 mm red traffic signal utilizing traditional "5 mm" LEDs requires 80 to 100 LEDs to meet the light output specification. The same traffic signal only requires 18 LumiLeds Lighting power LEDs to meet the same specification.

911EP has been a leader in driving new LED technology into the emergency vehicle lighting market. They create, design and develop solid state LED warning light solutions for a variety of needs for law enforcement, fire, EMS, towing and industrial/utility applications. 911EP has aligned with Smith and Wesson as their marketing and distribution partner.

John Pederson of 911EP said, "We pride ourselves on innovation and bringing new value to the market, and the LumiLeds Power Light Source allows us to innovate while at the same time provide a high quality, very reliable product that s mandatory in the emergency vehicle lighting market."
