- Noted Semiconductor and Business Veteran To Help Guide Wireless Company s Technology and Organizational Development - Applies Experience Transforming RF Micro Devices From Start-Up to Industry Leader

Raleigh, NC. In a significant milestone for this early-stage wireless components company, Nitronex Corp. today announced that David A. Norbury has joined its Board of Directors.

President and CEO of RF Micro Devices, Norbury helped transform the company from a start-up to a $289 million industry leader in the market for gallium arsenide (GaAs) semiconductors. Under his leadership, RF Micro Devices this year was the nation s second fastest growing company according to Fortune Magazine. This experience will help accelerate Nitronex s plans to commercialize gallium nitride (GaN) technology, and to become the leading supplier of GaN devices for wireless and optical data storage applications.

The addition of Norbury to the Board of Directors is the second recent milestone for Nitronex. The company today also announced it received $9.5 million in first-round financing (see related press release). Norbury participated as an individual investor.

Commenting on his decision to join the Nitronex Board, Norbury said, "Nitronex has the necessary ingredients to become a market leader, and I am impressed with Bob Lynch s ability to consistently execute on this highly technical project. There are clear technology and business synergies between what Nitronex needs to achieve and what I have focused on in recent years. I look forward to helping Nitronex maximize its market potential."

"David Norbury s support advances Nitronex s business and technology growth by an order of magnitude," stated Bob Lynch, president and CEO, Nitronex Corp. "Not only has David already helped create a leading global wireless components company, but Nitronex and RF Micro Devices share complementary technologies and business partners. As a result, the value David can provide is significant. His interest in Nitronex validates not only gallium nitride as a material, but Nitronex as the company that will make gallium nitride-based wireless products a reality."
