Applied Epi Receives Order for GEN200 MBE System from Agilent Technologies

Source: Applied Epi

St. Paul, MN — Applied Epi, Inc. has recently received an order for a GEN200 MBE System from Agilent Technologies (Santa Rosa, CA). Agilent will use the GEN200 in support of its testing and measurement equipment for RF and IR wireless communications devices.

"The GEN200 is specifically designed for precise production of high-quality and specialized compound semiconductors," says Tom Bird, Product Manager. "It can simultaneously process four 4" wafers or seven 3" wafers."

The GEN200 complements Applied Epi s new 7x6"multi-wafer production MBE system, the GEN2000. Both systems incorporate an automated UHV multi-wafer handling cluster tool modeled after proven silicon architecture.

The GEN200 s performance and uptime are further improved with Applied Epi MBE components, electronics and process-control software.

Applied Epi, Inc., a privately held company, is a global supplier of epitaxy equipment, solutions and services that enable the manufacture of compound semiconductors. The company is an innovator in Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) technology, having developed such products as SUMO® effusion cells and Valved Crackers.
