Temescal Ships System for Optoelectronic Component Development To Axcel Photonics

Fairfield, CA. On January 31, Temescal shipped a BJD-1800 evaporation system to Axcel Photonics for use in the development of new opto-electronic devices. According to Gregg Wallace, Temescal Business Manager, "Temescal s sales of evaporation systems to the opto-electronics industry have been doubling year on year since 1998. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to provide these systems to new companies like Axcel Photonics, who are developing the next generation of components that will enhance telecom and broadband data transfer infrastructure."

The system will be housed in Axcel Photonics new 18,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Marlborough, MA. According to Dr. Kurt Linden, Director of Operations, the modern plant will house the latest, state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to produce epitaxial wafers, as well as innovative optoelectronic components for next-generation telecom applications. "Our company is top-heavy with leading experts in the optoelectronics industry," said Dr. Wei Gao, President of Axcel Photonics. "Our staff, almost half of whom have Ph.D.s, is highly experienced in this field.
