New VSAT three-stage power MMIC

San Jose, CA. Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor, Inc. ("FCSI") has expanded its VSAT product offerings with the introduction of the FMM5051VF three-stage power MMIC. This device is designed for extended band VSAT applications in the 13.75 - 14.5 GHz frequency range and complements the existing "FLM1314-XX Series" of internally matched power FETs. The FMM5051VF s high linear gain of 31.5 dB coupled with 31.5 dBm output power and low input VSWR makes this product well suited for VSAT applications. The MMIC chip is housed in a metal-ceramic hermetic package.

GaAs MMIC Power Amplifier product line.

FCSI has expanded its GaAs MMIC Power Amplifier product line, with three new devices designed for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint radio link applications in the 17.5 - 23.6 GHz frequency range. All new devices are high-gain, three stage MMIC amplifiers that have an input and output designed for use in 50 ohm systems.

The FMM5815X is a high linearity amplifier MMIC chip designed for operation in the 17.5-20.0 GHz frequency range with an output power of 31.0 dBm and power gain of 21.0dB. The FMM5805GJ-1 is a high linearity packaged amplifier designed for operation in the 17.7-19.7 GHz frequency range with an output power of 31.0dBm and power gain of 20.0dB. The FMM5811GJ-1 is a wide band packaged amplifier designed for operation in the 17.7-23.6 GHz frequency range with an output power of 24.5dBm and power gain of 15.0dB. This amplifier is also well suited for millimeter wave radio applications.

New 2.5 and 10 Gb/s (OC-192) laser drivers

Two new 10 Gb/s (OC-192) laser drivers are also available. Both products offer 3 volt peak-peak output voltage for use with Modulator Integrated (MI) lasers and differential input modulators. The peak output current, output duty ratio and output offset are adjustable for both devices and both have internal 50 ohm terminations at the high speed differential input and output connections. The FMM3109PG is in a 24-pin Hermetic Package while the FMM3109ZH is in a lower cost 6 mm x 6 mm 32-pin, plastic mold package with heat spreader.

The company s two new 2.5 Gb/s (OC-48) laser drivers feature a built in D-FF, and the re-timing and bypass mode are selectable. Both are ECL compatible, have duty rate adjustment, and output shutdown switches. The FMM3174VI is a Modulator Integrated (MI) laser driver and the FMM3175VI is a direct modulated laser driver. Both units are housed in a small size 16-pin package (SSOP-16).

About FCSI FCSI offers Fujitsu products that include microwave and millimeter wave RF devices for cellular, handset, broadcast and satellite communications. In addition to RF devices, FCSI provides Fujitsu products for fiber optic digital telecommunications applications in the 622 Mbs - 40 Gb/s range (laser diodes, receiver modules, GaAs ICs, and LN modulators), and analog lasers for CATV applications (broadcast and return path). FCSI also offers lasers at ITU grid wavelengths for DWDM systems.
