Accent Announces Volume Purchase Agreement with OSRAM Opto Semiconductors
Berlin, Germany. Accent Optical Technologies (www.accentopto.com), a leading supplier of optoelectronics and silicon semiconductor process control systems, today announced a volume purchase agreement (VPA) with OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. The VPA is active until December, 2002 and will be used to purchase optoelectronics process control tools ranging from rapid photoluminescence mappers to electrochemical CV profilers to hall systems for resistivity, carrier concentration and mobility.
OSRAM, one of the largest providers of light sources in the world, has more than 5,000 different lamps and lighting products including halogen lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, metal halide lamps, and automotive lamps. In 1999, OSRAM invested heavily in the photo-optic lamp market leading to the establishment of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors Subsidiary. This was of major strategic importance to OSRAM because it provided the gateway to the technology of the future, semiconductor light sources. It is for this division, in their new facility in Regensburg, Germany, that Accent s tools will be used.
