Modulight opens new facility

Tampere, Finland. Modulight, Inc., a Finnish start-up manufacturing high-performance optical components announced the completion of its new facility in Tampere, Finland. The new production line uses latest equipment in optoelectronic chip manufacturing. The 3000 m2 (32.000 sq.ft) building, located in Hermia Technology Centre next to the leading Finnish telecom companies allows all company s functions to be incorporated under the same roof. The construction of the building started in January 2001.
"We are excited to get all our operations running in the same state-of-the-art optoelectronics facility", says Petteri Uusimaa, President & CEO of Modulight. "We wish to thank all our subcontractors who helped us in realizing our ambitious timetable, even exceeding our expectations. The new fab with plenty of production space gives us the possibility to quickly respond to increased customer demand. Our plot allows us to easily quadruple the manufacturing space."
