WJ Communications Announces a New Low-Cost FET for Receiver and Transmitter Applications

Source: WJ Communications

New Medium Power, High Dynamic Range FET

San Jose, CA. WJ Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: WJCI), a leading designer and supplier of high-performance radio frequency (RF) components for communications equipment manufacturers, today announced the availability of a low-cost high dynamic range Field Effect Transistor (FET), the FH101. The FH101 is packaged in a low-cost surface mount package. Low noise figure coupled with high output IP3 at the same bias point makes it ideal for receiver and transmitter applications.

``WJ has a long history as a leader in providing high-quality semiconductors for the wireless infrastructure and we continue to push the envelope in designing state-of-the-art products for the market, said Skip Hoover, Executive Vice President, Business Development of WJ Communications. ``Our customers also need superior low-cost products that provide WJ-caliber reliability and performance. The addition of the FH101 to WJ s existing line of FET s offers designers a low-cost solution ($.99/10k) for their receiver and transmitter applications, offering high linearity, high frequency, and cost effectiveness.

The FH101 achieves a +36 dBm IP3 at a mounting temperature of 85 degrees C with an associated MTTF of greater than 100 years. The FH101 has a low noise figure of 1.2 dB, up to 18 dB of gain, P1dB of 18 dBm and operates at a frequency of up to 3 GHz. This product is targeted for applications where high linearity is required. All devices are 100% RF and dc tested on a wafer.

The units are available for immediate delivery and are priced at $0.99 in quantities of 10,000 units. They are housed in industry standard SOT-89 packages.

WJ Communications, headquartered in San Jose, California, designs, develops and manufactures innovative broadband communications products for the current and next generation wireless communications networks and fiber optics. For more information visit http://www.wj.com.
