Bede headquarters moves into new custom-built premises
Bede headquarters, which includes the operations of Bede plc and Bede Scientific Instruments Ltd, moved into new custom-built premises on 10 December 2001. The 27,000 sq ft facility is located on Belmont Business Park on the outskirts of Durham City, in the North East of England, UK.
The new building incorporates expanded clean production facilities (including class 100 clean room assembly areas), demonstration and application laboratories, meeting rooms (including video conferencing facilities) and office accommodation.
Neil Loxley, Chief Executive, said, "I am delighted that we have been able to move to better facilities, and remove previous capacity constraints on our business. The new building will allow us to cope with increased demand for our products, and an expanded workforce as a result of heavy recruitment throughout 2001. It is a strategic move which reflects the commitment we have to our customers, and the professional approach we like to take in all areas of our business activities."
Bede has recruited 46 new members of staff since its flotation on the London Stock Exchange, most of which are based at the Group s headquarters. The official opening ceremony for the new building will take place mid-January.
