LumiLeds buys Aixtron nitride growth reactor
The new AIX 2600G3HT represents Aixtron’s success to supply to its green-blue-white LED manufacturing customers the cost-breaking high-capacity G3-MOCVD Technology too. Extremely cost-efficient use of starting materials compliment this tool from a cost-of-ownership perspective for the deposition of nitride-based materials. This equipment, in addition, fulfills the strict requirements of excellent layer uniformities together with high-yield performance to fast ramp-up capacity in a minimum period of time.
As the same reactor is also capable of eight 4"-wafers, this system represents the most elaborate MOCVD tool for production of GaN/AlGaN transistor structures too.

Adding the ground-breaking Luxeon lighting technology recently, LumiLeds has established a new state-of- the-art: highest flux LEDs available around the world, supplying up to 325 lumens of white light or as much as 790 lumens of red light, and a comparable brightness in other colors offers the preferred and unbeatable choice for LCD monitors and notebook computer screens as well as fabrication of extremely small and sleek light sources. These will provide very low electrical power consumption stretching lighting fixtures into new and never foreseen silhouettes and applications.
