Nanovation fights to stay alive (Fiber News)
Nanovation Technologies, which is developing photonic integrated circuits using a variety of material systems including InP, has filed a petition for bankruptcy protection in a US court. The filing, under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code, gives the company 100 days to try to come up with a restructuring plan that will keep it alive. Nanovation, which has a 108 000 sq. ft manufacturing plant in Northville Township, Michigan, laid off two-thirds of its 169 employees at the end of July after its latest funding round fell through.
