Samsung orders Anadigics' MMICs (GaAs News)
Anadigics has received production orders from Samsung for CATV tuner ICs for use in a new digital set-top box. Anadigics ACU2109 upconverter provides the distortion and gain flatness performance required for simultaneous reception of 256-QAM digital and analog video signals, in turn enabling increased channel capacity for CATV broadcast services. This part is paired with the ACD2202 downconverter, which employs both GaAs and CMOS technology to provide dual synthesizer functions in a double conversion tuner (see p37).
