Aixtron reactors for PLI and University (Materials and Equipment)
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Kowloon, Hong Kong) has purchased an Aixtron AIX 2000 HT reactor with a capacity for 6 2-inch wafers. The system will be used in the manufacture of blue and green LEDs (see LED news, p19). Princeton Lightwave Inc (PLI), a vertically integrated manufacturer of InP components based in Cranbury, New Jersey, has bought two AIX-2400G3 MOCVD reactors from Aixtron. The new systems will allow PLI to ramp production of the company s recently introduced range of EDFA and Raman pump modules, broadband gain chips, and high power distributed feedback laser modules.
