Triquint reveals electro-optic drivers (New Devices)

Hillsboro, OR. TriQuint s new TQ8318 and TQ8319 ICs are 10 Gbit/s electro-optic drivers designed for metro and long haul DWDM applications employing SONET/SDH OC-192/STM-64, including FEC rates up to 10.8 Gbit/s (see ). Based on the company s GaAs MESFET process, the new ICs feature rise and fall times of 32 ps at 35 ps input rate, a single-ended modulation voltage of 1.03.0 V and a differential output of 2.06.0 V peak-to-peak. Also built in is an integrated 0.0 to 1.0 V offset and back-terminated 1560 mA modulation current for 50 Ohm loads for the TQ8318. The TQ8319 offers 30120 mA of modulation current for 25 Ohm loads. Both devices operate at +3.3/7.5 V. www.triquint.com
