EPI MBE Products Group Introduces GEN2000 Multiwafer Production MBE System
St. Paul, MN. EPI MBE Products Group announces the introduction of a revolutionary Multiwafer Production MBE System for the rapidly expanding, $9.5 billion, compound semiconductor industry. Compound Semiconductors for telecommunications applications alone account for $5.3 billion in sales, growing at ~40% annually. EPI has responded to this demand by implementing an aggressive growth strategy that includes the introduction of the GEN2000.
The GEN2000 Multiwafer Production MBE System is the first of its kind. Designed specifically for production applications, the GEN2000 is able to mass-produce epitaxial wafers (e.g. Gallium Arsenide, GaAs). The GEN2000 utilizes a Cluster Tool wafer handling system, a concept widely used throughout the silicon semiconductor industry. The system design reduces per wafer cost by more than 40% compared to currently available systems.
