A Record Year For Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology

April 4, 2000.

Bristol, UK. Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology (OIPT), a leading supplier of plasma and ion beam processing equipment to the semiconductor industry, increased sales for the year ended March 2000 by over 30% over the previous year, with orders received increasing by almost 60% over the same period.

Such phenomenal growth was achieved partly by increased penetration into the GaAs MMIC production market through winning new accounts and through increased sales into already established key accounts in the North America territory.

Much of the remaining sales and orders for this record breaking year were generated by the exciting and fast emerging Photonics industry, where OIPT s expertise in both active and passive device processing makes it the number one supplier of plasma and ion beam processing equipment to this market.

After announcement of these record results, Sales Director Jim Williams commented: "It s been a fantastic year for us in OIPT and we are starting to reap the rewards of the changes we ve made within the organisation to re-structure our business around strategic key markets. Our products are world beaters in our chosen markets and I believe that we now have the perfect platform to go from strength to strength with more record years ahead of us".

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology is based in Yatton, Bristol UK.
