ANADIGICS Ships Production Volumes of Power Amplifier Chipsets for Ericsson's Award-Winning A1228d Tri-Mode Phones

Ericsson s Latest TDMA Handset Delivers Up to 4 Hours of Talk Time Using ANADIGICS High Performance PA Chipset

ANADIGICS (NASDAQ: ANAD), a leading supplier of wireless and broadband communications solutions, announced that the Company has begun production volume shipments of two power amplifiers (PAs) to support Ericsson s award-winning A1228d TDMA mobile phone. This tri-mode, multi-band wireless handset utilizes ANADIGICS high efficiency PAs to deliver up to 4 hours of talk time with a standard ultra slim battery.

With the A1228d, Ericsson has designed an easy-to-use, moderately priced mobile phone that employs tri-mode technology (analog 800 MHz, digital TDMA 800/1900 MHz) for broad geographic coverage with consistent voice quality. The phone was an honoree at the CES Innovations 2000 Awards, where it was recognized for its innovations in design and engineering.
