Sumitomo Electric and AIXTRON sign Supply Agreement for MOCVD Equipment for High Volume manufacturing of Epi Material

AIXTRON is proud to announce that Sumitomo Electric in Itami, Japan, one of the leading suppliers of substrate and epiwafers to the electronic and optoelectronic industry, has recently purchased an AIX 2400/2600G3 multiwafer Planetary Reactor® system. Epitaxial films produced with the reactor will be processed into compound semiconductor devices for application in the telecommunication market worldwide.

A Sumitomo spokesman said that Sumitomo decided for the AIXTRON Planetary Reactor system because it is the cost efficient mass production system on the market demonstrating excellent wafer layer quality, high uniformity together with high efficiency and uptime.

The AIX 2400/26000G3 is the most versatile MOCVD system for 5x6", 8x4", 12x3" or 35x2" applications. The AIXTRON group offers a wide range of epitaxial systems for MOVPE, VPE and LPE from R&D-oriented systems up to large-scale Planetary Reactor® production systems for up to 25x4" or 9x6" wafers. AIXTRON has already installed over 400 systems worldwide. The company provides an extensive service and support network for maintenance as well as upgrading systems and is represented in over 15 countries.
