State of the Art Facility to Manufacture for Monolithically Integrated Optical Components on Up to Four Inch Wafers

Princeton, NJ. Qusion Technologies, a new telecom component manufacturer aiming at monolithic integration of all optical components on a single chip, announced today the opening of a new 33,000 square feet facility in South Brunswick, New Jersey. The integrated modules produced in Qusion s new state of the art facility will increase network speed and dramatically reduce integration and management costs for system developers.

"This new facility symbolizes company growth and our capability to deliver a product that will lower integration costs to our clients," says Fred Rappaport, CEO of Qusion Technologies. "We are now able to go from research and labs to the real world of manufacture and supply. We have the production space and the best equipment available to manufacture our first line of advanced modules in a state of the art facility."

Qusion Technologies is developing modules that will feature separate components integrated onto one device for use in optical network systems. Qusion is using the most advanced manufacturing monolithically integrated optical components with tremendous precision that will reach unmatched manufacturing yields, driving the 40Gb/s system and beyond.

Qusion Technologies new production space includes a four thousand square feet class 1000 clean room as well as a class 100 photolithographic clean room space. The South Brunswick facility will be equipped with latest and most modern 2400G3 MOCVD reactor system by Aixtron (www.aixtron.com), in use for the growth of advanced photonic materials such as indium phosphide or indium gallium arsenide.

Qusion Technologies new facility is located in South Brunswick, New Jersey, ten miles north of Princeton, New Jersey, where their current offices are located. The South Brunswick facility is expected to house fifty employees by the end of the year 2001.

About Qusion Technologies
