Suss Probe Tester Operates up to 110 GHz (Markets, Materials and Equipment)
Karl Suss (Munich, Germany) has launched a very high frequency (VHF) test probe that enables phase-error-free measurement up to 110 GHza capability increasingly in demand for communications devices. In current systems, heavy tuners have to be placed away from the prober with long connecting cables that dampen the signals, says the company. By allowing the turners to be located at the ProbeHead, the Suss PH300HF probe reduces the potential for errors due to long cables or cable movement during testing. "Although most components that are being tested right now are in the 2040 GHz range, the market is seeing a rise in demand for higher frequencies in the research and development fields," said Claus Dietrich of Karl Suss. "This is due to the emergence of such technologies as distance sensors for cars which work in the 80 GHz range."
