Furukawa to Recycle Ga and As (News from Japan)

Furukawa is developing the technology for recovering gallium and arsenic from the GaAs semiconductors used in such products as cellular phones. The company intends to begin the service from around the middle of fiscal 2001, using the materials for its own production of GaP polycrystals, which are used for LEDs.
