Porotech partners with Foxconn on microLEDs
Foxconn has announced its entry into the AR glasses market, using Porotech's GaN technology for the microLED display technology.
Earlier in 2024, Porotech announced a strategic collaboration with Foxconn, PSMC, and GIS to build the industry’s first 8-inch platform for microLED applications by combining Foxconn’s vertical integration capabilities, PSMC’s manufacturing expertise, and GIS’s skills in display technology integration.
During the year, the partnership has reduced pixel size to 1.25μm. The platform is set to be applied in 2025 for the development and commercialisation of high-spec microLED products, according to Porotech'.
