Company to show lighting for adverse weather conditions at SIA Vision 2024 in Paris

LED specialist Nichia will exhibit its latest automotive lighting solutions at SIA Vision 2024 held from October 16-17 in Paris, France, with a focus on lighting for adverse weather conditions.

Key products include Nichia’s µPLS Micro Pixelated Light Source, a light engine solution integrating pixelated micro-LEDs suitable for high-definition (HD) adaptive driving beam applications.

The µPLS Micro Pixelated Light Source is said to deliver exceptional brightness, high pixel density with individual pixel control, and flexible connectivity, seamlessly integrating into modern electrical/electronic (E/E) car architectures. It includes an integrated driver IC, developed in collaboration with Infineon, that can operate over 16,000 micro-LEDs individually using PWM control, ensuring optimal driving conditions and operational control.

Nichia will also present High CRI solutions for automotive lighting that provide colour rendering that mimics natural sunlight to improve visibility and reduce eye strain for drivers. These are suitable for enhancing vehicle interiors and exteriors, contributing to overall road safety by providing clearer, more accurate lighting, according to the company.

Also on display will be Near Field Projection lighting solutions capable of projecting clear, bright images directly onto the road to help drivers navigate safely in adverse conditions.
